INGREDIENTS
For the cake:
2 ½ cups flour
1 ½ cups sugar
½ cup powdered oreos (seperate from white and blend)
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Pinch black food colour (add more if desired)
1 cup oil
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon plain yogurt
½ cup hot water
2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
1 ½ teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of cinnamon
For the oreo fresh cream icing:
3 tablespoon icing sugar
¼ cup powdered oreos (add more if desired)
250ml whipping cream (add more for consistency)
Strawberries (optional)
METHOD
For the cake:
Preheat oven to 180°C
Beat sugar and oil.
Add eggs 1 at a time and beat well.
Mix dry ingredients together (flour, oreos,cocoa and cinnamon).
To egg mixture add vanilla essence and food colour.
Add tablespoon yogurt and beat.
Add 1 cup of dry ingredients then hot water then another cup of dry ingredients dn milk and then the last bit of dry ingredients.
Add baking powder and baking soda and beat just until mixed.
Grease 2 pans and transfer batter equally, put it in d oven and bake for +- 40-45min or until knife comes out clean and springy to the touch. Once done allow to cool and then frost the cake!
Chocolate oreo icing:
In a deep bowl whip up fresh cream and icing sugar, add crushed oreos
Step 1:
Allow cake to cool
Step 2:
Ice the top of 1 cake, sprinkle some powdered oreos for more taste, wash and cut few strawberries if u want to put in the middle.
Step 3:
Put other layer ontop of icing and ice the top of that layer or ice the rest of the cake and sprinkle with oreos. Top off with melted choc drizzled or whole oreos or whole strawberries on the cake.
