INGREDIENTS
1 sliced onion500g beed mince washed1-2 teaspoon fine garlicGreen chillies seeded & chopped+/- 1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon black pepper2 teaspoon baking powder2 tablespoon flour+/- ¼ cup milk4-5 potatoes boiled mashed & seasoned2 tablespoon oil/ghee (Clarified butter)Grated cheese
METHOD
1. Saute onions in oil.2. When half cooked, add in mince, garlic, chillies, salt and pepper.3. Braise well, then add in baking powder and flour.4. Braise once again and quickly add in milk, stirring continuously avoiding lumps.(The mixture should be a bit saucy and not too dry).5. Layer the mince in a casserole dish, and top with mashed potato and cheese.6. Bake in preheated oven at 180degC for 20-30min or until done.
INFO & TIPS
Amendments:
•I diced carrots and added to onions and sauted before adding mince.
•I did not use chopped chillies. I added 1 tsp dhana jeeroo powder, 1 tsp chilli powder, 1/2 tsp red ginger garlic masala, 1 tsp ground green chillies and 1 Tbsp vinegar to mince.
•I didn't use grated cheese. After baking covered with foil for 30min, I uncovered casserole dish and sprinkled parmesan powder over and grilled till the cheese & mash browned.
