You can substitute with plain yoghurt.
Buittermilk, plain yogurt or mix together 1cup milk and a tblsp lemon juice, Let stand for 5mins to curdle.

Hi Niri start with 1 cup cornflakes add in little at a time and mix until wel coated if mixture is still runny continue adding handfuls of cornflakes and mixing wel. Then place into mini cupcake cases the golden syrup wil make it harden once set. Hope dis helps
Salams I would think a good quality choc like Cadbury dairy milk choc since this is a sweet. Baking choc is good on biscuits and drys quick but won't b tasty enuf 4 a sweet. Hope dis helps

@naseerah Salaams. Thank you for pointing out that I forgot to note how much poppy seed to include! It's 2 tablespoons. I updated the recipe card on the website to note this.

This is how u can make ur own buttermilk If u don't find in. A shop near u (start by pouring 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a liquid measuring cup. Then, top it off with milk so the combined liquid measures 1 cup. Stir together, and let stand for five minutes. The mixture will appear curdled.....then stir befre u use it again)..

The same recipe was used for all the biscuits except the yellow heart shaped which are custard biscuits. I nozzled some and used cutters for others. Thank you :-)
