Can self raising flour be used instead of flour? Just thinking it would make it a bit lighter? Def going to use the buttermilk, and will use less baking powder.
Jee, it's a thick mixture. Buttermilk is ideal in baking because there's no fat & it acts very much like milk in muffins. If you are going to substitute buttermilk for milk, you'll need to change the amount of baking powder. This is because of the higher acid content in buttermilk. You will usually need less baking powder.

I have tried this recipe. Absolutely easy and tasty. Just hold the cupcake upside down and dip into the butter and then into sugar and cinnamon mix. I grated l little bit of choc into the mixture.
