what can i use as a substitute for the egg?
Rafeea, my kids thoroughly enjoy making this and helping out with the decoration. Zia, I use a buttercream icing. Don't really have a recipe for it, but I normally use 2 cups of icing for 125g butter and enough milk for a soft piping consistency :)
My apologies, for the late reply, Nariman. This recipes serves about 8-10 people and yes, one can easily double up the recipe.
Its one of my fave desserts, try it people. I use tennis biscuits tho. U can also take the tennis biscuits individualy n place fancy side up, then top with caramel, banana then pipe blob of cream on n sprinkle with choc. Cute served as individual desserts.
1/4 cup egg substitute equals one large egg.

used Treacle sugar, was not sure where to get Muscavado sugar, but my cake flopped, when i took it out of the oven after an hour, it just sank
Yes u can but won't have exact same effect. Muscavado gives a richer taste to the cake. N its great in coffee too :)

u can also make a mixture with buttermilk or inkomazi, arad and chana flour. Apply...let dry and wash off
