i forgot to mention.. the way i layer it is different.. add 8 layers , applying butter to each of them.. thereafter sprinkle all the nuts over the phyllo pastry.. thereafter start layering individual sheets, not forgetting to apply the melted butter over each one.. you can add up to 12... first cut the desired paterns.. when you are on the 12th layer.. therafter apply the melted butter.. and bake.. it is ideal not to follow the heating settins as each oven works different.. so start by pre heating oven on 180 than when u pop baklava in the oven reduce to 140.

Zia, I use a buttercream icing. Don't really have a recipe for it, but I normally use 2 cups of icing for 125g butter and enough milk for a soft piping consistency :)
