@Katy Vadia - I learnt the hard way that it doesn't refer to all bran flakes. My experimentation with all bran proved disastrous. The allbran absorbs all the moisture, thus the batter was dry and doughy.

Credit @ruhana ebrahim (mama taught me well) - 1 can crushed tomatoes 1 onion (sliced) 2 tablespoon oil 1 tablespoon garlic paste 1 bay leaf Chopped parsley/basil Pinch sugar Β½ teaspoon salt Β½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper Β½ teaspoon dhana jeeroo powder Β½ teaspoon paprika powder Pinch turmeric powder

Extremely easy and delish. Great recipe to take for a get-together. The sauce didn't thicken as much as I would've like it to. May mix in Β½tsp cornflour with the fresh cream next

Salaam made others before but, then I came across your recipe & OMG its the best I only use your recipe. I do not use vinegar or atchar masala. My hubby is my critic. He loves this recipe so its the only one I use & its a hit with everybody who eats it. Shukran for this lovely recipe
@Aadilaah Hassem - Wa alaykumusalaaam I've made this recipe before.. The vinegar is crucial for rising the cake- it reacts with the bicarb. You can't taste it though, don't worry π
