@Tahirah - Salaam Tahirah. I’m so sorry to hear that. It could also be that the batter was over mixed in the blender. Also full cream - full fat milk is a must when substituting for buttermilk milk.

Seeing that the blender did not work for you, try mixing instead, also reduce the amount of coffee according to your preference. So instead of 3 tablespoons, use 2 and maybe even a coffee that isn’t very strong… frisco works well.

@Gita - Hi Gita, sorry for the delayed reply… is the milk and vinegar mixed is a substitute for buttermilk. I haven’t tried this recipe with yoghurt so I’m not sure if it will work.

@Aadilah Chothia Amod - Wslm. You blanch and sliver before adding. Make few days in advance alternatively you can buy the sliverd almonds. The recipe also calls for ground almonds

Unfortunately didn't work out for me :( maybe i should try using the common method of mixing instead of the blender
or maybe it was the pan i used (took a standard round one)
or maybe because the milk wasn't full fat.
My cake came out compact and the coffee taste very strong..
